Duck snacks and chickens snack time with fresh cantaloupe from the garden. We are growing several cantaloupes in the garden this year as an experiment. They turned out to be kind of bland and not our favorite so we decided to feed half to the ducks and the chickens for their snack. While this backyard poultry flock will annihilate watermelon, peas, cucumbers, and other tasty treats, they really were not fans of the cantaloupe.
Usually, when fruit doesn’t turn out to be perfect for us the backyard ducks and chickens will finish it off. While they eventually came back and finished this melon off, it didn’t seem to excite them as much as other snacks do.
